This was the first time the members have been together in 40 years. Mac participated in the interview by phone. The band members visited with Mac at his home prior to the interview. MAC LEWIS May 9, 1952 - October 9, 2010 It is with great sorrow that we inform you that the Night Riders lost a dear friend an inspiration and band member. Mac Lewis passed away late in the evening of Sat Oct 9. . . Some of you knew Mac and some of you just knew of him from the website or thru other band members as being the quadriplegic member of the band. . . In the 60’s he was rhythm guitar & trombone player and vocalist with the Night Riders. In his latter years he was lead and back-up vocalist and the inspiration of the group. . . . You can recognize his strong baritoneish type voice in the 2nd verse of the Night Riders latest release “Come On and Dance With Me” AND his resounding “YEP” at the end of the song. The memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday October 17th, at Concord UMC. We thank you for your prayers and good wishes for the family.....
